Hey Everyone,

As promised the email about what we discussed on Tuesday and various bits of information. 

First:  The Professional Development Day is being hosted by the GLBT Programming Board on February 28^th from 10am – 4pm at the Viewpoint Bistro. YOU MUST RSVP FOR THIS EVENT!!!!  For more information and to register, checkout http://pdday.eventbrite.com/. Only RSVP if you are 100% sure you can attend.  The GLBT Programming Board will be buying you a $20 dinner and will be very upset if you do not show up! Second: “MILK and Cookies,” the event that Matthew Caffrey (of the Equality Coalition, if you haven’t joined the facebook definitely join, it will be a lot of fun!!! http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/group.php?gid=63504037149&ref=ts ) will take place in March, when the film is released on DVD, it will be sponsored by Insomnia Cookies, so you know it will be good.

Also the job opportunities (currently and over the summer that were briefly mentioned in the meeting). There are openings in the Sierra Club and Human Rights Campaign (not at OSU, HRC National/Columbus); both are expanding their donor base and passing tougher legislation against air pollution, forest clear-cutting, hate crimes, and special interest money in politics which is where your job would come in. The jobs are mostly centered on canvassing, which can be fun but challenging as well.
