Hello Everyone!
I hope everyone had an AWESOME National Coming Out Day! I just wanted to remind everyone that we will not be having a normal HRC meeting this Tuesday October 13th, instead HRC@OSU is hosting the National Coming Out Day Drag Show Extravaganza! The event will take place in Baker West Performance Space at 8:30pm on October 13th. We still have a few slots open if you would like to participate. Just send me an email and let me know your drag name and the song you wish to perform by 5:30pm on Monday October 12th (tomorrow). For more info on the Drag Show click here.
The next HRC@OSU meeting will be on October 20th at 8:30pm in Hopkins Hall 262. We will be joined by Mitsu Narui, a PhD student in the Higher Education Administration Program. He is writing a dissertation on the Asian American gay, lesbian, and bisexual college student experience and he wishes to give a presentation on the subject.
October is GLBT History Month! In the 1990's, teachers and community organizations determined that a month should be designated for GLBT history. They chose October because public schools are in session and traditions, such as National Coming Out Day. To find out more about GLBT History month click here.
