Hello everyone!

It is our pleasure to announce that tomorrow, Tuesday, October 7th, we will be holding our first meeting of the new year in Derby Hall room 48, starting at 8:00 PM.  We realize that the second presidential debate is at 9:00 PM, so we will try to finish with enough time for everyone to make it back home.  We will be discussing the organization, its makeup, and what we have planned for the future.  To commemorate National Coming Out Day, we are planning (as we did last year) to chalk around campus this Thursday, October 9th, at 6:30 PM.  In the event of inclement weather, we may have to push back the date.  For the chalking, we will be meeting outside of the south entrance of the RPAC.  

There are also a few more administrative issues to address in this email as well.  Due to new student organization regulations, the Office of Student Life requires us to keep a roster of active members.  To be added to this roster, all you need to do is fill out your information at  http://hrc.org.ohio-state.edu/roster.php.  We will not publically display this information. 

Additionally, there have been changes proposed to HRC@OSU's constitution and by-laws.  As per the requirements of the amendment process, these proposed changes have been posted online at http://docs.google.com/View?docid=df342qvq_7hbw6g5hj, and will be voted on at a later meeting.  The changes mainly focus on streamlining the group's executive positions, consolidating duties of multiple officers, but allowing for more flexibility with regards to officers (as deemed necessary by HRC@OSU's E-board).

One matter of major importance this year is the upcoming election.  If you're interested in volunteering in any way, shape, or form for any organizations or candidates, then contact Andrew Stock to see what kind of opportunities exist.
